Dave has increasingly been asked to share his experiences and passion with others. Dave's seminars and workshops have blessed many at Spring Harvest and in training events up and down the country. Dave offers a variety of sessions to challenge, encourage and equip children's workers in their ministry.
Training is at the heart of the Omega Zone Children's Ministry. Below you will find listed the training blocks currently offered as part of an Omega Zone Training Event.

FB: Jesus' Passion for Children and its Practical Implications.
Jesus is passionate for children! This interactive session looks at Jesus' teaching in Matthew 18-21, and at the practical implications for the church today. It includes a look at underlying principles for children's ministry and aims to encourage and envision children's workers for their vital task! We strongly recommend this session for your first Training Event. (75 mins)

BB1: Helping Children to Get Excited About the Bible
Teaching the Bible to children is a big challenge! This session looks at how children process new learning and the factors that influence our weekly teaching. It is also packed with creative ideas to help you bring the Bible to life!

BB2: Keeping Control of your Group
Many children's leaders are desperate to establish and maintain good and appropriate behaviour in their groups. This session helps us understand the factors affecting behaviour as well as providing a simple set of strategies to help.

BB3: Introducing Children To The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is for all children! This session equips children's leaders with helpful ideas on how to introduce children to the Holy Spirit. It includes tips on how to pray with children and help them to listen to God.

BB4: MOT For Children's Workers
Are you due for your MOT?! This session is creatively based on a 17 point MOT test and encourages children's workers to reflect on their relationship with God in the light of their commitment to working with children. (30 mins)

BB5: Understanding Primary Aged Children
What do children love doing today? How has a child's life changed over the last few years? What is the difference between a 6 and 10 year old? This session aims to increase our understanding of children between 5 and 11 years of age.

BB6: Jargon Free Teaching For Children
Jargon can be confusing and alienating. This session aims to help children's leaders understand jargon from a child's point of view. It answers the question: Should we ever use jargon? And it contains a simple strategy to teach in a jargon free way!

BB7: Helping Children To Pray, Praise And Worship
What do we actually mean by prayer, praise and worship? This session helps to define prayer, praise and worship and gives loads of creative ideas to engage your children.

BB8: Reaching Children Through A Church-Based Holiday Club
Pyramid Rock and Seaside Rock are Dave's Holiday Club materials. As well as giving a full overview, the session focuses on learning the theme songs, working with a small group and praying with children to become Christians.

BB9: All-Age Worship Toolkit
'It never seems to work!!!' This session highlights the tensions of all-age worship. It helps to clarify aims, and it provides a clear structure for planning and delivering an appropriate and creative all-age worship session (including a host of great ideas!).

Storytelling is an age-old skill. After looking at Jesus, the master storyteller, this session gives some helpful principles on how to tell a story and it includes a host of creative ideas to help bring testimony and Bible stories to life.

One of the greatest opportunities the church has! This session helps leaders to deliver appropriate and creative school assemblies. It helps leaders to understand current educational law and the expectations of a typical school.

Just as a plumber needs his toolkit – so do our children! This session provides children's leaders with a spiritual toolkit they can give to their children, to support them as they live out their faith. It also helps leaders understand what it means for a child to live as a Christian today.

Dave has many years experience of leading mid-week clubs that reach out to unchurched children. This session explores the exciting concept of the mid-week club and gives some keys to establishing and developing a successful outreach.
