Supporters Update

May/June 2008

Welcome to the latest news from the Omega Zone.   We are firmly back in action after a great time at Spring Harvest.  Below you will find news on all the latest developments.

Action Praise DVD Volume 1

Our first actions and dance DVD was released on 31st March – our first day at Spring Harvest.  Martin and Gary have done a great job in producing the DVD and the dance team themselves have done us proud.  We used green screen technology, as my puppet Ainsley (who stars in the DVD!) is keen to point out.  It was a lot of fun and the reception has been very encouraging.

Spring Harvest

Spring Harvest felt a bit like a never-ending experience this year!  A lot of preparation went into putting a storming programme together. We then spent two weeks leading the Omega Zone 8-11s programme in Skegness, before a few days off and then I led the Big Start at Minehead.  The theme was One Hope and we tackled Isaiah in the teaching sessions.  It was a challenge, but again a great joy.  One child who became a Christian in week 2 went back to his chalet and told his parents about his decision – they then decided they should do the same and prayed with their son to become Christians!   One example amongst many of God at work.  A massive thank you to everyone who helped prepare or deliver the programme.  Thank you to, to everyone who prayed for us!

Omega Zone

Last week we undertook our first ever Omega Zone Activity Day in school.  Sue, Nige, Hugh and myself went to a school in Doncaster to lead a day based on Biblical Superheroes.  It was a great day, and has potentially opened up a new line of ministry.

Coming up is a weekend of ministry in Slough, followed by a training event and praise party in Rothley.  Rothley, very much in the news, is actually where my sister lives.  We will be supporting and ministering to her church and their partner churches.

One last bit of news – we are currently negotiating the recording a new album at the end of the year.  The album will be called ‘Amazing’ and will be recorded with Gav and Dez from YFriday!

Number Fun

Number Fun for the first time is being advertised nationally this term.  We have gone into partnership with NES Arnold (major educational supplier) after our very successful time at the Education Show.  Another 5000 sample CDs have been duplicated, and Number Fun have got prime pages in a couple of the NES Arnold brochures this term.  It will be very interesting to see the response!

This term is full of Number Fun Training and Activity Days.  These days are becoming very popular, and we are booking well into the Autumn Term (virtually full) and then into the Spring Term.

Other

Both Menna and I continue to work on our MAs – please pray for God’s help with this as it is difficult to find the time needed to read and write!!!

Both Colchester United (my team) and Leicester City (my son’s team) both got relegated, but we’re trying not to dwell on it!  Up the U’s!
